Gloucestershire School Games 2013

The biggest so far with the Level 1 competitions involving 54 schools (Primary & secondary) with 1150 pupils involved during the 12 months!

32 members of Deer Park comprising coaches & volunteer coaching assistants helped during the year to support this amazing programme and Active Gloucestershire played a huge part in the success of the activities!

”Whilst the finals days are fantastic, they are the culmination of a years activities in school clubs which take place after-school, lunchtimes, breakfast and in-curriculum time. The School Games give the whole years efforts a purpose and focus and are a key factor in developing sport in the county!”

June saw the highlight of the Primary School Programme with 8 schools competing in an all day ‘teams of 12′ event in the Cotswold District Level 2 Finals.

The Level 3 Senior School Finals at Hartpury College saw 80 archers from 16 schools compete on a team and individual basis. Archway School from Stroud ran out overall winners which was a fantastic achievement, they were also finalists last year but finished last!

We hope this captures what we are trying to achieve! We believe our Archery School Games are the best in the UK by some distance and we plan to make them even better in 2014!

The winning teams Archway, Cleeve & Balcarras.
