All our recent efforts have been focused on increasing participation in the School Games and supporting Active Gloucestershire in the great work they are doing. Our aim has been to support the Level 1, 2 & 3 events in as many primary and secondary schools as we physically could. The result has been that in the last 12 months we have worked with 52 schools, introducing 1115 pupils to our sport however despite our efforts this has not met the demand and some areas have not received the support they need. Notably in the Forest of Dean district, hopefully the local clubs will be able to help provide that support in 2015!
The culmination of the Senior School L3 Games at Hartpury College in June 2015 will see the biggest entry to date with 8 school teams of 12 archers contesting the Secondary final with more than 120 archers competing (Some as individuals) representing around 16 schools! The day will be organised by the Club and we also supply the equipment!
The same pattern will be repeated with the primary schools although the format of both the district and county finals is such that some archers/schools can be trained on the finals days! The programme also incorporates the ‘Arrows’ adapted kit in addition to the mini Genesis.
The District L2 Finals have proved to be a great success with the Primary School highlight being the 8 schools from the Cotswolds competing in a day long event using both mini-genesis and ‘Arrows’ Adapted kit.
