We are pleased to announce that we will be trialing an additional indoor venue on a Friday evening at Kingshill School in Cirencester. Full indoor distances can be shot.
It will provide onsite storage and another excellent venue for our winter programme, which offers excellent venues at Balcarras (Sat & Sun), Birdlip Village Hall (Mon & Fri), Shurdington Village Hall (Tues) and GL1 Recreation Centre (Wed).
This will be at no extra cost to members!
Gloucestershire Junior County Championships Report
The Gloucestershire Junior County Championships again proved to be a wonderful celebration of our sport with archers, parents, officials, coaches and volunteers from many club’s working together to ensure everyone had a great experience despite some less than perfect weather!

Ella Gibson (Right) and Grace Chappell (second from left) celebrate some great performances with their mums!
Unlike last weekend where despite Cheltenham Archers fantastic support for the Junior Inter-Counties & Regional Junior Championships combined with a great level of application and determination by all the archers to complete despite appalling weather, where subsequent events left a very nasty taste, the opposite was demonstrated by our county event!
2 National Records broken and one equaled, numerous county and regional records, many personal bests, some top quality head to heads competition and everyone left looking forward to their next competition. (Which for many will be our Record Status 1440 and metrics this coming weekend)
Well done to Anna Perkins, Ella Shield, Joshua Hann and Will Hardy all from Cleve Archers who won their categories and became county champions. Will Hardy doing it, thanks to recording more golds on a tied score over our own Alex Parker who is improving almost week by week. Evie Hardy from Cleve also won the highest scoring novice award.
We will add a gallery of photos in next couple of days.
The remaining county titles were won by Deer Park Archers juniors, so it is congratulations to, Jasmin Brain, Rosemarie Preece, Chloe A’Bear, Ethan Trotman, Maddy Egan, Holly Clifford, Polly Young and to Ted Williams who in winning broke a long standing National Record in the Junior National Barebow!
As did Ella Gibson who obliterated the National Record with 568, Will Gore, Charlotte Lunt who recorded a very impressive 562, Grace Chappell shooting above her age group and beating county and regional records and just missing out on a National Record, Josh Uzzell who equalled the National Record and Riley Spencer-Nice shooting 2 levels above his age group, shooting 530 on a National round!
The subsequent Cotswold Head to Heads were all keenly fought and again excited all those that took part, not to mention the parents! With 7 of the 8 finalists from Deer Park they also dominated the 2 events with Holly Clifford, Chloe A’Bear and Grace Chappell (in that order) taking the honours in the Compounds and Molly Peters, Jasmin Brain and Ella Shield (Cleve) taking the honours in the Recurves.
A final well done and thank you to our judges, organisers, catering team and field crew for another enjoyable day.
