Holding the event at our own ground for the first time left us worrying if anyone would turn up, especially after the success of 2015 with a more captive audience at GL1 Recreation Centre.
More than 30 club volunteers were the first to arrive, all set to go in double quick time which added to the tension and then within half an hour we were running at capacity!
All our objectives were met and from the excellent feedback we had so were those of our guests. Lots of tweets on our hospitality and the quality of coaching and care. This was not a 5 min experience, everyone had at least 30mins.
We are now continuing delivering ‘open community’ sessions every Saturday afternoon between 3 & 4:30pm until the autumn and that will cater from 5 years upwards as we are also using Arrows kit.
Ontarget Competition
Last weekend we hosted an excellent match between ourselves and our friends from Tockington Archers, in a very close match we eased to the next round winning 11/10. Well done to Martin, John (Shooting Barebow in the recurve category) and to Josh and Holly.
We have another home draw in the next round against Minchinhampton Archers with the fixture likely to take place on a Tuesday or Thursday evening later this month. There will be a shoot off to decide the team.
