Amazing Day!

It was our 3rd FITA18 Annual Para Tournament at Leisure@ Recreation Centre and we are pleased to be able to record another very successful event, that said, there are still a few areas that we need to tidy-up.

Para Shoot 1

The setting up process on the Saturday evening was a lot more efficient and the range looked great and special thanks must go to Tenzone for their support.

Great teamwork to set up range in double quick time!

There were a number of firsts in the way that we administered the event, including online registration and payment, an automated reminder and target list, live score updates and an online survey to gain vital feedback for next year.

Assembly – afternoon session

As we had arranged to have the whole event filmed even the range assembly was captured on time-lapse and our thanks must go to Cheltenham Film Studios for the very generous support throughout the weekend, we are really looking forward to seeing the end result.

Our main sponsor’s for the day the ‘Worshipful Company of Fletchers’ were represented by Chris Brown, Chairman of the Charity Committee and he was our Lord Patron. He also agreed to be interviewed on camera along with a number of other sponsors, supporters and competitors.

Our Judges, Richard Jones & Adrian Gifkins were fantastic and our thanks go to them, unfortunately Richard was unwell throughout the day but he struggled on. He was very unwell following the event and had to be transported home, we wish him a speedy recovery.

So to the shooting, lots of good scores, plenty of competition and most importantly a perfect balance of social banter, supportive atmosphere and enjoyment.

Our team of Deer Park Volunteers once again excelled themselves and again proved that forming partnerships with a range of external organisations helps us to achieve so much more.

From a club perspective we have yet again learnt a lot, made a few mistakes along the way but most importantly strengthened our resolve to make our great sport more inclusive and hopefully encourage many more clubs to get involved!

Full results and a video will be available asap. Why not enroll on our website blog to keep up with every thing happening at Deer Park?

Our next event is our Record Status Double Bray on the 20th March 2016 thinking of entering click here.
