Amazing Grace!

Grace Chappell claims individual gold at the at the first leg of the European Youth Cup in Slovenia in dramatic style !

Compound cadet Grace qualified in fourth spot then swept past Czech Petra Zikmundova of 140-130 and Estonian top seed Meeri-Marita Paas 144-142, who had defeated another GB archer Sinead Byrne.

That set up a title showdown with second seed Elisa Bazzichetto, who had earlier ended Holly Clifford’s hopes.

And there was drama right to the end. Both athletes finished on 137. That meant a shoot-off. The Italian shot an eight – but Grace hit the centre to take gold.

Chloe A’Bear beat Lara Drobnjak of Croatia 132-121 but fell to Italy’s Martina Serafini.

Congratulations go to all 4 of our archers, Grace, Chloe, Holly and Riley, all of whom performed well, also to Steph who made her debut as a GB Coach making it a winning start!

Archery GB Big Weekend is a roaring success!

10 targets, 2 details, a near full car park and some pleasant weather meant we were set for a great 90 minutes of shooting! Thanks to the pack sent from Archery GB we were able to reward the senior and junior winners of many of the fun challenges! We had both standard and adapted equipment operating.

Net result was a great 90 minute experience, lots of registrations for our beginners courses, lots coming again next week to our weekly open community have-a-goes and a valuable income!

Feedback was outstanding: particularly the quality of our coaches and other volunteers, the standard of our equipment, the range of games we played and of course our fantastic facilities!

A great success!

A great success!

Great to be one of the hundred plus clubs promoting our sport across the UK.

We will have 2 mats complete with all the necessary equipment available for members, family, friends, men-in-sheds etc. to try. Coaching available. The intention is to start our own club, certainly to have enough participants to start our own internal league but perhaps if successful join an external league!
