Sunday at Lilleshall saw the culmination of another years Ontarget Club Competition with 4 good teams battling it out. The format is top draw, the organisation excellent and the day was brilliant! Well done to Archery GB for another great event.
We should be proud of our team, Captain Symon, Ed, Grace and Molly who all shot well in windy conditions and they came so close to winning the event.
We were matched with CMO Bowmen from Croyden, who deservedly won the final against Redhill 14-7.
We pushed them all the way, losing 11-9 with 2 of the individual matches one drawn and another lost by a single point!
Each team, with two recurve and two compound archers, shot three rounds of two dozen arrows at 50m with archers scoring points in a team, pairs and individual rounds.
In the semis, Redhill Archers saw off Burton Joyce Archers 11-10.
We went on to claim third place, beating Burton Joyce 12-9.
Arran Coggan, Clubs and Facilities Manager, watched the action. He said: “The finals event went smoothly and I thank all the archers and clubs involved in this year’s competition. This was our fifth year so it is well established and everyone enjoyed themselves. It’s a fantastic competition to be involved in and I encourage more clubs to take part in 2019!”
County Clout Championships
Following our clout training session last month a number of our members took the plunge and competed in the county championships. Well done to Imogen Colenutt, Emily Summers and Fin Kellett on becoming County /champions! Also to Mark Colenutt on winning bronze in his first competition!
Supermarine Tournament
Not sure of all the results but do know another brilliant Performance from Chloe A’Bear shooting 2 distances above her age group doing a Bristol 2 and scoring 1276 and recording County Under 18, U16 & U14 Records!
