Archery in Schools – More Records

More participation and competition this term than ever before! A big thank you to Steph & Dan (Xperience Archery) and to all the club volunteers for supporting all the community & schools programmes. Our achievements in 2012 have been ‘awesome !’

This term 15 teams competed for the Autumn Term Title and there were 204 individual entries more than ever before.

During 2012 we have delivered more than 500 hours of archery to 53 schools and there are even more bookings for 2013.

The Level 3 (County) School Games events were a great success and the plan is to run 2 programmes (Senior & Primary) next year. There will be 5 districts with the winning school from each district (plus a best loser) competing in the Senior final at Hartpury College. The Primary Schools finals will be held in indoor venues in the Autumn.

A key part of what we do, is to inform the schools of their pupils achievements, many have been added to the schools ‘Gifted & Talented’ Lists, others received Sports Awards. Many have gone on to do Archery as part of their Sports GCSE.

Nutrition & Hydration Workshop – 27^th January 2013

The date is confirmed and will take place at Balcarras between 9 & 10:30am. We have engaged an external provider to run the workshop. All members are invited to attend. Please let Steph know sjcrang@aol.com

Practice Sessions

 11^th, 12^th , 13^th, 15^th as usual.

Members should note that there is no shooting at Balcarras on the 16^th December as it is the Level 1 Coaching Course Assessments all day.

18^th, 19^th & 20^th Arrangements to be confirmed.

We will be meeting every day between December 22^nd and January 1^st. Details of times will be published next week.
