British Junior Indoor Championships – 3rd December
14 of our juniors competed in the junior Championships held at Stoneleigh Park. Our team of 14 archers was the second biggest representation at the event and with some excellent performances certainly one of the most successful!
There were British Championship titles for Riley Spencer-Nice who won the Junior Gentleman U14 Recurve (and will be eligible for the same event next year!) with an excellent score, beating Ashe Morgans County Record in the process!

Riley Spencer-Nice recorded another cracking score and became British U14 Recurve Champion in the process!!
Holly Clifford landed the Compound Ladies U16 Title and Ella Gibson the Junior Ladies U18 Barebow Title. Not only that but Holly also top scored for all age groups so became the overall National Compound Champion!

Holly Clifford British Champion! Last Week she won the Best Junior Compound at the Club Annual Awards evening.
There were also bronze medals for Chloe A’Bear in the Junior Ladies U14 Compound (She has only recently switched from Recurve) and Imogen Colenutt in the Junior Ladies U16 Barebow.
Full report and pictures to follow when results are published and there were certainly some other good scores achieved by our archers. Well done to everyone for representing the club at such a big event.
Hot off the press, great photo with some of our team and 2 Paralympic Medalists!
2016 Back2Back
In the adjacent hall the was the annual Back2Back Competition with big money prizes and an array of 200 top archers from around the world. We had 4 archers competing 2 of them junior and the others in their late teens competing in groups of 6 with the top 2 progressing to the next group round. Phoebe was drawn in a tough group and failed to progress but gained invaluable experience. Tom Howse, Lucy Mason & James Howse all progressed to the next round with Tom having been drawn in the same group as James finishing top after beating James! James and Lucy again progressed to the 3rd round groups and just one step away from the finals.

Tom Howse who competed against Mike Schloesser the World Number 1 Archer and who shot another perfect score and went on to win the event.
Lucy again progressed finishing in a very credible 6th place Again well done to our archers who are now competing at the highest level.
Many more of our members are competing on the Sunday in the British Indoor Senior Championships, good luck to them and fingers crossed for another stunning day.
