Celebration of Phoebe’s amazing Paralympic Gold Medal achievement.

Despite some very unpredictable weather we were still able to celebrate Phoebe’s Gold Medal success at the Tokyo Paralympics.

Steve Howse, Club Chairman recapped some of the milestones achieved since Phoebe completed a beginners course with us in 2012. Steve complimented her parents for the great support they have had provided Phoebe and also for the fantastic support they have given to the Club!

Phoebe was presented with Life Time Membership of Deer Park Archers, autographed a specially prepared photo collage to hang in the club house gallery and then posed for photos with her Gold medal and club members.

Following  cupcakes and afternoon tea a number of activities had been organised, winners were as follows:

Guess the pumpkin weight – The  Lygoe Family (just0.5 Kg’s out).

Boule Ring Challenge – Adam Plumpton

Halloween Track Field Course Challenge – Jacob Gill (just one item missed)

Arrows kit shrinking holes challenge. – Helen Jenkins

Thank you to all those that helped to put on the event and those that supported it. Due to the COVID situation this was our first organised social event for some time.

Club Membership hits a new high and the waiting list for beginners courses continues to grow!

A temporary freeze has been placed on new membership until the situation has been reviewed at the Club Management Meeting taking place later in November. The current exceptions to this are all those that have recently completed beginners courses and those already registered on courses planned to run. In the meantime, we are redirecting all enquiries to other Gloucestershire Clubs. Before committing to any further recruitment we need to ensure our capacity to continue providing a high quality experience for our membership can be maintained with numbers increasing even further into the 200’s.
