The Club Raffle prizes were drawn at the Christmas Fun Shoot, which was very well attended. As previously reported local businesses have been incredibly generous with their support and our volunteers have worked hard to facilitate sales and encourage donations, thank you to everyone!
The result was £1,465 taken from ticket sales and prizes donated to the value of over £1,200. The proceeds were really timely in support of our estimated ground improvement costs, which have been higher than estimated.
Results can be seen here. All winners have been contacted.
The ‘adapted Arrows’ kit was won by Anna Brown and she will be donating it to the Alderman & Knight School which is a special school for 4-16 year olds with moderate and additional learning difficulties, so that is a great outcome!
An unexpected high point of the evening was an appearance by Dave Pontin who has recently left hospital after a 6 week stay, it was fantastic to see him and we hope he will be shooting soon!
The evening also saw the retirement from committee positions of Mel Sutherland (Social Sec) and Lynn Benfield (Competitions Officer). We would like to record our thanks to both for all their hard work and the many hours spent at committee meetings.
Christmas League Launched
The event also saw the start of our league H2H programme. This year all 4 bow types have their own divisions nad they will be updated on the website regularly. With shooting every day over the Christmas Break, there will be plenty of opportunity to complete the fixtures.
Next Club Target Days
Boxing Day Field Course Shoot and New Years Day Portsmouth (Which can also be used for the Archery GB January Challenge).
Have a great Christmas!
