Another resounding success, a bigger venue at the Civil Service ground, a sell-out, which was not surprising at just £5 per head including food, lots of entertainment, videos and slide presentations capturing moments from the last 12 months as well as another year of achievement!
Firstly a big thank you to all our members for helping with the preparations and organisation during the evening.
The videos of our years highlights and achievements will be on YouTube sometime this week as will some more highlights from the event.
As usual some fun family quizzes had been prepared to start the evening, then following the food Dave Ponton, QVC star presenter then acted as MC for the awards which inevitably provided some very funny moments, especially with the winners interviews!
As is club tradition, all those gaining Progress, Classification, 252 Awards and JMB status were recognised.
For each general shooting category a short list had been produced and voted on by the coaches, runners up received certificates and the winners trophies.
Categories included, best beginners, best improvers, best bow type and winners included (a full list will be available on the website):
Club Person of the year was Lynn Benfield who received the Jos Benfield Trophy in recognition of her many years service in numerous roles from Treasurer, fun raiser, club-ware coordinator, tournament promoter and quiz sheet creator! Lynn and daughter Rosie normally select the recipient for this award but with such incredible support over such a long period the club decided to surprise her!
The Junior ClubPerson of the year was Paige Tucker for the second year in a row, always willing to help at community and club events, from refreshments to Bambies, Paige is currently undertaking her Level 1 Coaching Course.
Lucy Mason received the International Archer of the year, following numerous successes including becoming European Cadet Champion, Nation Series Winner, National Indoor Champion and representing GB at Senior Level in both Target and Field Archery!
