Active Together Grant Success
A new grant scheme from Gloucestershire County Council is encouraging more sport and physical activity across the county. Called Active Together, the grant scheme is open to community groups from sports clubs to scout groups and to parish and town councils and schools.
The scheme will make it easier for people in Gloucestershire to stay active by giving local communities the control to create their own opportunities to get active and healthy together.
This grant allows us to develop our facilities to enable us to run open community sessions on Saturday mornings from May – September. We will actively promote the sessions through the local community, schools and press. As well as encouraging people to try our sport the programme will incorporate beginners courses to facilitate individuals joining local archery clubs. We will use our vast experience to deliver the sessions in a safe, fun and exciting environment aimed at all ages from 8 to 80!
We would like to thank Gloucestershire County Council and our local Councillor Mr Robert Vines for their support.

Seems not that long ago that we sent in the scores for the November challenge, so well done to Archery GB for getting the results out in such quick time.
We again did very well with 21 top 10 finishes and 11 of those in the top 3 positions, 5 golds, 3 silvers and 3 bronze.
So well done to all those that entered and mentions for Fin Cummins, Chloe A’Bear, Rachel Lucas, James Howse and Lucy Mason for winning gold. To Will Kurtze, Holly Clifford, Ellie Gore for silver and Nicole Deasey, Anya Dix and Connie Healey for bronze.

Sub Committee formed to manage the Archery GB Big Weekend and Official Opening of the ground.
The Big Weekend will take place over the 30th/31st May so please reserve the dates in your diary. More information to follow. Date for the official opening of our ground will be announced shortly. Club practice sessions will commence at the start of April, with the official opening taking place at a later date.
Swimarathon – Saturday 11th April 2015
This has been a successful fund raising event for the club over many years and with mounting costs to get the ground ready we would like to make this the best so far!
Everyone in the Club will potentially benefit as a proposal is to use the funds raised to pay for a Portaloo to be installed at the new ground until we have a permanent toilet block.
We have entered 2 teams – 1 x Junior (must be 13 years of age and lower) and 1 x Senior.
Work on the Field Course
Work continues on the field course and we now have a budget to install steps, bridges and we have found a free source of unlimited wood chip to create pathways in the rough terrain areas.
