Our promised video is complete!
As previously reported we are grateful to all our sponsors for supporting this almost unique event and especially Action Image Productions for all their support and fantastic professionalism, which has created such a fantastic video.
Please take the time to view it, we hope this will encourage many other clubs to run similar events and hopefully many more participants in our sport.
Swimarathon – huge fundraising success!
Role of honour to our swimming team that including gift aid raised more than £700 for the club and charity and sponsorship is still coming in! This fundraising will support many of the clubs coach and archer development programmes and is another demonstration of the efforts we make to support the development of the club.
The team were Paula, Ryan, Michelle, Josh, Molly, Martin M, Riley Nicole, Jacob (20 months old) and Steph. Well done top them all all those that sponsored them.
They also completed 119 lengths in the allotted time beating all the other teams in their group.

Some of the 2011 team that also won the Round Table Presidents Award. You may recognise a couple of the faces!
Indoor Season comes to a close
Throughout the winter the club has offered an average of well over 10 hours per week of excellent indoor shooting facilities for less than £3:50 per week per member. On top of that we have run numerous club target competitions, workshops and leagues and supported 3 thriving Satelitte clubs. We also ran 3 record status indoor competitions.
All these activities necessitated storing/maintaining 28 bosses and stands, which were a mixture of Danage and straw and the provision of countless target faces.
All sessions have been incredibly well attended and through numerous partnerships and working with our venue hosts, the indoor season still balanced our financial books!
The impact of all this activity has been enormous not just on the improving standards of our shooters, the health and well being of our members but on the club spirit which is so evident in everything we do.
Ground development and first outdoor shoots.
Our covered shooting area is just a couple of days away from completion and the final result is truly amazing. Set 20m back from our shooting line, it will allow up to 36 archers archers to shoot in a single detail on rainy days. The range has been marked out so that multiple bosses can be positioned at metric distances on the right hand side and Imperial on the left (not in front of the covered shooting area).
Work on the toilet block and kitchen/communal area will be completed over the next 2 weeks at which point the water and electricity supplies should be switched on.
Later this month it is hoped that the area where the future club house will be located will be excavated and filled with chippings/gravel to provide a suitable surface for the piling machines to operate to install the foundations.
Club Management
The club would like to take the opportunity to formally record it’s thanks to the outgoing Treasurer Dilys Hadley who has overseen incredible growth levels in the club’s financial activities including becoming a Company Limited by Guarantee and receiving over £150,000 in grants and donations and masses of fundraising activities in the past 18 months.
As from April 1st the club finances will be carried out using XERO online accounting software and a new Club Treasurer is being appointed.
Also from the start of this financial year the Club will also be operating data recording systems to enable it to monitor its performance against agreed targets set by Sport England and the Environmental Trust. A new Social Committee has also been formed.
