Club Target Day Handicap Portsmouth
The event was advertised on a club newsletter a couple of weeks ago, filled up very quickly with many new faces that were trying a formal competition for the first time and it turned out to be a great success!
Using the Archery GB Handicap Allowance system everyone was in with a shout!
There were many Personal Best scores and a new record for dismantling the range and packing away! This may seem a small point but when a well oiled team can pack away so efficiently it takes a load off everybody.
We were limited to 38 entries due to the size of the venue and the time available and it was on a first come basis and more than 20% of the entries had either not done a competition previously or only done 1 or 2.
The top third all exceeded the par score for the handicap shoot, so well done to them! Josh Leonard also recorded a new County Record.

Bruce Hulatt (left) finished 2nd, Josh Leonard achieved a County Record & Mark Crompton (Right) finished 7th.

Top 12 Archers all finished with an above par score!

The event turned out to be a great social occasion as well as a well run shoot!
Sponsorship for the Swimathon Teams roles in!
We have entered 2 teams for this year’s Swimathon organized by the Round Table later this month, full report in the next newsletter but thank you to all those swimming and to the many members and friends that are sponsoring them.
Participation continues to grow!
Attendance at the Balcarras Inclusion Club continues to grow week by week and many of the participants (coaches and archers) are making excellent progress. We will continue these open sessions once we move outdoors (Details to be announced this week) and we shall be contacting other local clubs to get involved, they will be open sessions!
Also the Community Session at GL1 Recreation Centre has really taken off, full Beginners Courses now being run, we have had to stop any more new starts as the courses are at capacity!
There are also lots of bookings by Primary Schools to do ‘Arrows’ Sessions’ so the future really does look great for Gloucestershire clubs!
