Probably best summed up by one of our out of county visitors when congratulating us on a well organised event,
“If Carlsberg made tournaments then the Deer Park Double Bray would be it!”
4 National Records, a full competition, lots of personal bests, great company and superbly organised. Add to that, members won 13 out of the 14 categories and a healthy return on the raffle and refreshments, coupled with great support from the judges and the day was complete.
We are not going to list all the winners as they can be seen in the photo but congratulations go to Jenny Thornhill from Saethwyr Pontiets winning the Ladies Recurve.
Best members performances were probably Phoebe Pine winning the Junior ladies compound and recording her first National Record, Charlotte Lunt winning the junior ladies recurve and recording a personal best by some distance and the highest ladies recurve score of the day.
Rachel Lucas beating both the Junior and Senior Ladies British Barebow Records by 50 points and Mike Dalton breaking the Junior Gentlemen’s National Barebow Record.
Again not mentioning names but a great effort from members making the event possible, what a team!
As this event was seen as part of our fundraising drive, no medals and trophies awarded. All the winners (Pictured above) went into an elimination draw with the last name out winning a £50 Wales Archery Voucher, congratulations to Callum Fraser!
Thank you to our judges.
