This target day again confirmed the popularity of competition, with 35 members competing in a formally organized event. The previous evening we had a great attendance and an impromptu round robin H2H with Alex winning, Martin H second and Liza 3rd. As usual thanks go to the team that organized refreshments and the Tombola on Sunday morning! The club spirit and focus on technique rather than pure scores created an amazing environment and highlighted the satisfaction of competition!
We have another Club Target Competition on the 1st January (afternoon), just a couple of places left at the time of writing this blog!
We had 2 sets of bosses set up, one for a Vegas Round.
James L 553
Andy W 549
Dave S 514
Simon L 459
There were 12 County records broken (marked *), with some excellent Personal Bests and some outstanding shooting. Mike Dalton doing his first competition and only been shooting BB Recurve for less than 4 weeks recorded 446. Will Gore recorded a PB of 508, whist Connie registered a massive improvement, recording a higher score on a Vegas than her PB on a Portsmouth!
Best scores were reserved for Nicole shooting a Vegas BB and breaking 4 County Records and Lucy the top scoring compound with 563 and breaking 3 County Records. Likewise some excellent Longbow shooting by all the participants and 3 scores over 400 on a Portsmouth with Martin claiming victory!
Another set of targets for those doing a Portsmouth:
Martin H 462*
Kev S 429
John C 411
Will G 508
James G 466
Peter L 456
Chloe T 453
Martin T (Retired Injured)
Mike D 446
With all the indoor competitions members have been doing we will now be able to organise a Club Championship event for 70 plus archers using handicap data.
