New Year’s Day Club Portsmouth is full!
The online booking system was closed earlier this week as our annual club New Year’s Day Portsmouth was oversubscribed. This is great as we continue to encourage members to enter tournaments and hopefully discover the joys of competing regardless of the results.
New Management Committee Appointments
Helen Healey is appointed Lead Child Protection Officer with immediate effect and will have 6 additional members supporting her, as we meet at so many venues this will ensure a presence at every session and that they are known to all attendees. Can we take this opportunity to thank Jane Deasey the previous job holder for her support.
Steve Mason is appointed Records & Competition Officer with immediate effect. Steve was already acting as Competitions Officer and is taking on the Records Officer role vacated by Helen Healey having become Lead CPO.
Break-in/Theft of equipment from our Shurdington Ground.
We are saddened to report that over Christmas our archery equipment container was broken into and 8 compound type bows and a 10 Pack ‘Arrows’ kit used to support the Gloucestershire School Games were stolen. We have been given full support from the police services, informed our insurance company and communicated the loss to as many organisations as we can.
The press has also supported us in reporting the crime and hopefully tracing the perpetrators. For further information see the following Gloucestershire Live Link : http://www.gloucestershirelive.co.uk/club-fears-stolen-lethal-weapons-could-be-used-for-violence/story-30020134-detail/story.html
Thank you to all our members that rallied round to make the container even safer. We will be taking further steps to add a number of additional layers of security to hopefully prevent any further occurrences.
Annual Awards Evening
Video Highlights from the Annual Awards Evening will be available after this weekend and the link published with the results of the New Year’s Day Portsmouth.

Great evening at our Annual Awards Evening which is now at its 5th venue each time to accommodate the increasing size of the event!
Deer Park Archers wish all our readers a Happy New Year!
