Drainage, Drones, Sponsors and World Cups!

Drainage work will be completed by Thursday!

We would like to thank DE Spencer & Sons for the fantastic job they have been doing in installing drainage, it has not been an easy job as the site was an inert material land fill 24 years ago and they have encountered many challenging objects.

A major operation that caused only minor disruption.

We have appreciated their hard work and their willingness to ensure the ground was still useable each evening.

Lorry loads of stone, plastic piping delivered. The contractors also gave us a bonus as instead of dumping the spoil to the side of the ground they removed the top soil from a low area on the field and built it up with the spoil from the trenches and then replaced the top soil. A big thank you to them.

The leveling means that we can have targets anywhere across the field at 90m.

Major Sponsor to be announced for our Deer Park Archers Winter Field Course Series!

We have attracted a major sponsor who will donate a cash sum which will cover the cost of developing our course and the cost of hiring in a tree surgery company to ensure the area is safe. That job alone is going to take 3 people 3 days to complete the required work.

Currently choices from 10m to 60m.

The series will take place over the winter on 5 different dates and we will  open it to members of other local clubs. Opportunities to visit and practice will be available prior to the start of the series.

Large Drone at Deer Park

Cheltenham Film Studios have made trial flights of their new drone at the ground earlier  this week, the stability and quality of the photography is impressive. They have offered to do a film of a future competition and take some overhead shots of the field course as part of our promotion of field archery efforts.
