Grand Western Regional Championships and Inter-Counties Tournament
Firstly let us congratulate all those that represented their counties and to the organisers of an event that has had its share of controversy over recent years, but not so this year!
The final detailed results are not yet published but we are pleased to report that Gloucestershire continued our domination and by some margin as well! Winning the overall team, recurve team, compound team and barebow team awards!
Gloucestershire County Junior Team 2018
A feature of the day was again the dividend that comes from the organised team building sessions that happen during the interim period and the strength in depth that exists to replenish the team at any point.
Inter-counties Compound Team Champions. Rosie, Grace & Chloe.
Regional Inter-Counties Recurve Team Champions. Including Deer Park’s Riley, Will, Molly and Jaz.
The one issue we do have is that only two clubs provided archers with 4 from Cleve and 10 from Deer Park, hopefully the current county initiatives will start to address this situation.
Regional Inter-Counties Barebow Team Champions. Imogen & Emily.
There were some absolutely incredible scores recorded and many personal bests but lets keep that for another bulletin, this one is all about the team, 9 ladies, 5 gents who once again did Gloucestershire proud!
Gloucestershire Inter-Counties Overall Champions.
We sent a group of 13 to the regional championships, 6 won, 5 were second and 1 third!
Now we need to get geared up for next weekends junior county championships which we are hosting, should be a great celebration of junior archery in Gloucestershire.
