We spent an excellent afternoon at the home of Gloucester Rugby Club providing players, staff and family with an opportunity to try our sport and it was very well received!
Our volunteer coaches and members manned an area for the under 8’s with the ‘Arrows’ kit, an area for juniors using mini-Genesis and we supported a competition for some of the adults, using Genesis bows. We had decided to use these bows to cater for the draw length as many of the participants were well into mid 6ft tall range!
Over 40 of them competed with James Hudson (87) getting the highest score closely followed by Ben Morgan (86), Shane Monahan (84) & Billy Twelvetrees also on 84.
The feedback was excellent and we thank Gloucester Rugby Club for giving us the opportunity to support them and promote our sport!
We have also supported Cheltenham Town Football Club in this way and are going to look into arranging a competition between the two clubs, so watch this space.
Once again thank you to all our volunteers. Next weekend we will be supporting the Endsliegh Insurance Company Family day and from past sessions we know that that is going to be a very busy and enjoyable afternoon!
Junior Inter-Counties
Good luck to the Gloucestershire team competing in the Inter-Counties down in Somerset on the 6th September. 9 of the team of 15 are our juniors with the others coming from Cheltenham, Cleve and Black & Gold, who will be all striving to retain the title which they convincingly won last year!
