It is important to start this report by repeating the fact that this is a great competition that all clubs should be encouraged to enter. Well done to Arran Coggan and his team for another great day which all those that attended thoroughly enjoyed!
For the first time in addition to the Recurve/Compound Competition there was also a trial Barebow/Longbow Competition which was a great success!
Ready for battle!
We had qualified for finals day with the narrowest of victories 11/10 over Britton Archers in the quarter finals. So we were up against Ivanhoe Archers from Leicestershire in the semi-final and were convincing winners 13-8. Norton Archers from Teesside progressed to the final with a victory over Eagle Bowmen of Bedford.
Norton started strongly and after the initial team round it looked like we were going to get a bit of a tanking! However full credit to our resilient team of Captain Kevin, John C, Vanessa and John F who fought back to lose narrowly 10/11. Well done to Norton on their victory in this inaugural event, they were our opponents back in 2013 in the inaugural Ontarget Compound/Recurve event (which we won on that occasion!).

In the Compound/Recurve event again we were pushed all the way in previous rounds, the semi-final saw us drawn against Norton Archers and we progressed with a 12/9 victory, to compete in the final against Wallingford Castle Bowmen from Oxfordshire.
Well done to all our team, Molly, Caroline, Kieran, Andy, Dan and Captain Simon who saw us win the title for the second time with a 12/9 victory! Ontarget Club Team Champions 2019!
