With practice sessions running every day from the 24th December through to the 2nd January and record numbers attending various sessions leading up to Christmas there is a great buzz around the Club.
Two weekends ago, in addition to the usual indoor practice sessions and some outdoor shooting at our ground there was a Sunday afternoon club junior squad session and 26 attended and were supported by 7 coaches.
On the Saturday evening at Balcarras 39 members enjoyed a fun shoot, prizes for random challenges and some excellent refreshments.
Then after the Sunday morning practice there was a County Junior Squad (18) session, lots of team building, coached supported shooting and an hour Psychology Classroom session to complete proceedings.
Yesterday evening was the Club’s annual Snowman Drive and buffet with over 20 juniors attending.
On New Year’s Day we have a club target day Portsmouth and there is a frostbite shoot planned for the 15th January. Another of our Level 1 Coaching Course starts on the 8th January and the assessment day for the course that completed in December will also be on the 15th January.
So a lot going on but not just on the range, members of the committee are currently conducting the annual review of all the risk assessments (with 7 regular venues there is a lot to do!), and a review of our child protection procedures in line with the recent request to all clubs from our Governing Body and Sport England.
