Having expanded our range to 36 bosses we were able to run the JAS event, which was instantly fully booked, with our highest ever number of one day competitors! Despite not yet installing our car park extension we were just able to accommodate all the extra cars.
Thank you to ArcheryGB for allowing us to deliver the event and thank you for all the great feedback we received! A massive thank you to all our volunteers who provided such fantastic preparation and ‘at the event’ support and to the judges who worked so hard and provided the professional support needed to deliver such successful events across both weekends.
Just a week later we then ran a 2 day, 24 target 3D tournament again recording a record maximum attendance!

Environmental Stewardship Projects
Our recently installed bee hives are establishing them selves much quicker than anticipated. Most of the bird boxes are inhabited with many of the young successfully fledging, including a family of blue tits that fledged in our covered shooting area! Areas of the flower meadows have masses of Yellow Rattle becoming well established and our traditional orchard is continuing to establish itself, although following recent dry weather we may need to do a deep water. For the first time our brook has fish (minnows), proving that the clean up of the stream areas is paying dividends! Thank you to all our volunteers especially our men-in-sheds and Team Turner!
A lucky one, a few fell out of nest boxes a little too early, returned and successfully fledged a few days later!
Health & Well-being.
We recently had a visit from Loughborough University who approached us as they are supporting the development of a tool and solutions to promote health and well-being in sports organisations. They are working with the University of Lorraine (Paris) who are coordinated by the World Health Organisations! They conducted a full onsite audit using the tool they are developing, we were invited to take part because of our standing and it is fair to say we display a lot of positives in the area of health promotion and well-being!
That said, the audit certainly identified a few areas where we can do even better and these will be addressed. This exercise also links in very well with our OnTarget Refresh initiatives!
Longbow arrow making workshop oversubscribed!
Next weekend’s practical workshop with Gary Evans is now oversubscribed. We hope to organise another one. Thank you to Gary for his support and sharing his expertise!
