We are pleased to confirm that following a late contribution by Sovereign Housing that we exceeded our £20k stretch target! This will allow us to purchase the land that is so essential to the sustainability and development of our field course and take a range of actions to improve accessibility, develop the course and improve our environment.
We thank them for their support and also thank the Crowdfunder programme for making the connection with them.

Sovereign Housing’s core mission is to be a leading landlord, providing great service to their residents and customers. But as well as quality housing services, their work does not stop at the front door. They offer a range of services, investing in communities, to help people and their neighbourhoods be the best they can be.
Fortunate for us we are located close enough to one of their developments and are considered to be making a contribution to the place we live!
They don’t just deliver one of the largest new affordable housing programmes in the country, they make great places too. Whether it’s new build, conversions or regeneration schemes, they focus on design, quality and sustainability to make places people want to live today and tomorrow.
Looking after 60,000 homes is a big job, but they know that the quality of a home can affect every aspect of a person’s life. They have been changing how they work, thinking differently and increasing investment so their residents can be even prouder of where they live.
They are a not-for-profit – with every penny reinvested in homes and services. With the financial clout of a FTSE-250 business, they combine financial and organisational strength, along with funding from government, banking and capital markets, to maximise their social impact.

We also thank the Worshipful Company of Fletchers for their support to our Crowdfunder Project and to recognise their ongoing support we are pleased to announce that our field course woodland will now be known as ‘Fletcher’s Wood’.
Respecting anonymity requests of some of our contributors, the last of our major contributors that we are able to formally thank is Mr. Nick Elliott, owner of Elliott’s (Cheltenham) Ltd who continue to be our major sponsor.
We have therefore confirmed our intention to buy the additional woodland and access lane and provided instructions to our Conveyancing Solicitors. Our work in the community and general profile resulted in over 2/3 of the contributions coming from outside of our club, which reflects our role in our community!
Environment
We have just taken delivery of saplings and stakes/guards to plant up some areas where we have lost trees and also a load of bulbs for naturalising.
After weeks of hard work our volunteering teams have now completed the cutting of over 400m of hedgerow. It looks fantastic!
Following a visit by an Ecologist we will now be allowing a 4m strip of uncut grass along the hedge rows and have added some recommended flower seed.

Health and Safety
Following several agenda item discussions at recent Management Meetings we are launching a major initiative focusing on all aspects of H&S, seeking to highlight that Health and Safety is the responsibility of all those engaging with the Club.

Finally
As you would expect, we are ready and waiting to resume shooting under whatever restrictions are required. The loyalty of our members and the continuing work our volunteers are doing to maintain and prepare our ground is truly amazing. Hoping all readers stay safe and well.
