Mid-week Record Status Stafford is raging success!

Whilst places were limited, as we decided to go with a single detail as the event was run on a Wednesday evening, all places were filled within 24 hours of advertising it.

The event ran smoothly and there were 2 British Records and 12 County records shot by our archers!

You may think we would start with the 2 National Records however first call goes to Chloe A’Bear, just 12 years old, recording under 14 and under 16 Compound County records and smashing them by over 40 points!

Ella Gibson and James Howse both got National Records and new County Records at both Junior & Senior Levels.

At her last record status event Ella, who has been shooting compound for just 4 months, equaled a National Record on a different round. Last night she beat it and in doing so became only our second archer to break a National Record with 2 different bow styles!

Stafford organised a bit like cricket 20 overs match! No frills, single detail, no prize giving. Just shoot arrows!

Breaking County records were Alex Parker under 12 and getting his first County Senior record Andy Clifford, both shooting recurve. Ted Williams broke the County under 16 and 18 records for longbow. Both David Ponton and John Craigie broke the previous County Record for longbow with David recording the highest score. Rosemarie McKay landed the adult ladies County Record.

Thank you to our hosts GL1 Leisure Centre, our judges and of course our organising team, we are planning to run several mid-week record status events in the next indoor season.
