We are pleased to be the recipients of 3 of the 6 Annual Awards made by Archery GB as part of their Ontarget Programme.
It is our first success with the Partnership Award but we have been previous winners of both the Young Volunteer and Innovation Awards.
As a club we are great devotees of the Ontarget Programme and the help and support that it provides and would again like to thank the Development Team for the support they continue to provide.
The Partnership Award recognizes the combined efforts of Deer Park, Xperience Archery and Active Gloucestershire to produce the best Primary & Secondary Archery School games in the UK. With almost 70 primary schools now competing the sheer scale of the support and organization needed is considerable but this partnership continues to deliver.
The award was made during a break at the Forrest District Primary School Games with Arran Coggan – Manager Participation for Archery GB presenting the award to Martin Tucker representing Deer Park, Dan Gill representing Xperience Archery and Steve Price representing active Gloucestershire.
At this event Katherine Frusher was presented with the Young volunteer Award recognizing her support for many club activities as a coach and her work with Arrows in the Girlguiding Community. Katherine is also training as a judge. Earlier in 2014 she was also awarded the individual Niarac Award by the Royal Society of St George for her devoted attitude to helping others.
In the evening at club practice the Innovation in Archery Award was made to Paige Tucker and Mike Dalton who received it on behalf of the team that has worked so hard to develop the Bambies Resources and Programme.
Arran Coggan agreed to also present one of the 2 trophies members had won at the January Challenge.
This was the first visit of an Archery GB representative to our new ground and Arran was impressed what we have achieved in such a short time.
