GWAS Regional Indoor Championships (FITA 18)

7 Regional Junior Champions but the even more pleasing fact is that our archers continue to improve with some excellent scores and many personal bests!

There were wins for Beccii, Callum, James Howse, Hamish, Riley, Phoebe/Connie & Lucy. 2 of our junior compounds would have finished 2nd & 3rd in the senior section! Beckie Hutchings top scored with 566, James House scored 565, Ben Humphries 564 and Lucy 560. Great shooting!

Record attendance at Indoor Practice session!

Over 70 members attended the Halloween Shoot at GL1, great shoot, this was the biggest mid-week indoor practice session attendance we have recorded.

Thanks to those that helped to organize it.  Also thank you to all those that made targets and well done to those that won prizes.

Leisure @ Recreation Centre – Halloween Shoot Success

Xperience Archery supported by Deer Park supported a 2 hour ‘Halloween Junior Fun Session’ on Wednesday morning, with 200 tickets sold it was always going to be busy and that turned out to be the case! With constant queues and all the participants dressed in costume perhaps it was not surprising that all of us running the archery ended up as zombies by the end!

 Gloucestershire Media Awards

The Club has been nominated for the Junior Team of the Year Award and also for two individual awards. In recognition of our juniors achievements during 2013, ten of them will have their own table at this prestigious event!

Ebay Project

A great weekend with members goods being sold for over £500! Those proceeds will then be donated to the Club towards our fundraising to purchase our own land.

British Junior Indoor Championships – Ricoh Arena – Team Coach!

With over 30 entries on the Saturday we have booked a ‘Team Coach!’ This is a first for us, our archers shooting in the morning will have to make their own way there but the majority are shooting in the afternoon, so the coaches, supporters and archers will travel together on the team coach!

Club Target Day – It’s full!

Last Monday we announced a Club target session for this Sunday morning (10th November) at Balcarras, to shoot a Worcester Round. This represented a risk in that many of our archers are already competing at St Kingsmark and Evesham. Within 4 days we were fully booked demonstrating a great thirst by our members for competition!

The forthcoming Gloucestershire  Junior Championships, which we are hosting is also full, we will need to look for a bigger venue next year.
