National Grid Volunteering Day – July 6th

We are pleased to announce that through our partnership with Business in the Community (The Prince’s Responsible Business Network) that we will be the beneficiary of support from between 35 & 40 Engineers across a range of tasks at our ground. This will include building bridges and steps for our field course, helping us to convert all our bosses to a wheeled design, constructing a field captains platform and some general painting. During the day we will be providing an opportunity for all the volunteers to shoot and of course award medals and a trophy for the winners!

We are putting it to full use, the kitchen area was used to provide all the refreshments for the County Friendly match against Worcestershire and resulted in a healthy profit of £170.

Level 2 District School Games Finals

Over 150 pupils, teachers and supporters visited our ground to participate in 2 District Finals and the venue proved to be excellent. On the Monday, High School for Girls, the defending County Champions and one of our Satellite Clubs,  stormed to the County Finals but there were excellent performances from Ribston Hall (who may still qualify as best District Final losers) and Gloucester Academy.

The Evesham National Series Stage 1 & 2 (Senior event) saw some excellent performances and top 10 finishes from Tom & James Howse and Lucy Mason. Congratulations to James on finishing top in the Stage 1 Qualification Round and for an excellent day 1 from Tom shooting recurve. We also need to give a special mention to one of our juniors, Holy Clifford shooting for the first time at this level and acquitting herself so well.

From our juniors there were excellent performances from Riley Spencer-Nice recording 1160 shooting above his age, Ella Gibson shooting Barebow with 1022 and inflicting a rare defeat on Rachel Lucas, Holy Clifford with 1284 and Fin Cummings with 1178. Club General Meeting

As a condition of being awarded grants from the Environmental Trust, we agreed to change Deer Park Archers Limited Articles of Association to safeguard the Trust’s funds from being distributed to our members.  We also delayed these changes  just in case Sport England wanted a similar change made as a condition of the award of their grants.

To make a change to the Company’s Articles of Association requires a Special Resolution to be passed at a General Meeting which will take place on Tuesday 7th June at the ground at 7:30pm.  All the required documentation has been circulated.
