Our first try at organising a mid-week record status event has surprised even the most positive of us. The Stafford Round will take place on Wednesday 22nd March with assembly at 6:45 at our GL1 facility.
Places were filled within hours of the Prospectus being published! We need to thank the judges for making themselves available and the recreation centre for accommodating the event. Lets hope for a couple of national records to top things off!
Ground Security
Following a break-in over Christmas the Club is investing over £1.5K on adding additional layers of security. In real terms the investment is larger than that so we would like to thank the following organisations for supporting us:
Ultra Secure Direct
Stow Agriculture
Keytrak
Elliott’s (Cheltenham) Ltd.
In addition to taking out a contract with SmartWater, PIR Sensor Alarms (phone selected numbers when unauthorised entry), electronic locks, telescopic posts, additional carpark gates we will also have online security camera access. The addition of further security measures inside the containers and also branding on wooden items and postcode etching on all valuable metal items. We have also instigated a programme of random site visits.
This information has been shared with our insurers who have been very supportive throughout the process.
We would also like to thank ‘Clickers’ for their support in helping us to replace all the missing items and minimising the cost to the insurers and to Archery GB for their support.
Whilst we had adequate security arrangement (met the insurers requirement) we were guilty of thinking it won’t happen to us. Well it did and with hindsight we could have done better. So our message to other clubs is do not be complacent, arrange a crime prevention visit, and make it more difficult for these sad individuals!
