Phoebe is off to Rio!

Despite Phoebe’s relative inexperience she reached the final shoot off, with 2 other archers last month for a single place in the Paralympics in Rio, she shot very well but just fell short.

However there is some great news that has only been made possible as a result of her undoubted ability and work ethic to improve!

In June Phoebe was nominated by Archery GB for a place on the Paralympic Inspiration Programme. This is a programme that takes athletes with the potential to attend the next Paralympic Games to the current games, in order to experience the whole process and atmosphere.

Phoebe Pine Off to Rio!

We were delighted to hear this week that Phoebe’s nomination has been accepted and she will travel to Rio on 13th September for a week.

Phoebe will visit the headquarters of the British Paralympic Association at the end of July to meet the other athletes and will then spend some time at Tedworth House in August to be kitted out and receive more details.

This is a massive endorsement for Phoebe and plays a big part in her plans to qualify for the Tokyo 2020 games’

Good luck to Tom, James & Lucy

All 3 have been selected for the GB team for the European Youth Championships, which are being held in Bucharest from 18-23 July.

They fly out today as part of a 24 strong team which should prove to be very competitive and has the potential to win a number of team and individual titles.

We wish everyone in the team the best of luck.

Inter-Counties Team Selection

The Gloucestershire Junior team will be announced shortly and it has been particularly difficult this year with some many good young archers developing in the county.

Gloucestershire have been runaway winners over the last few years and they will be again hoping to defend their title this year as the event is being held at Cheltenham Archers Ground in September. However we are sure that the other counties will be fielding strong teams to try and spoil the party!
