Another excellent event hosted by the Club, although strange in that the morning was much busier than the afternoon and unfortunately there were a number of spaces created by a lot of entrants suffering from the flu virus sweeping the county.
Well done to Lucy Mason for securing another British Record and to Simon Browning from Perriswood Bowman for his Welsh National Record.
Once again the event was well supported by Judges Richard Jones and Adrian Gifkins and our thanks go to them.
Members won 15 of the 16 categories and the overall winner of the £50 Wales Archery Voucher was Dave Ponton who won the men’s Longbow.
Building work update.
As you can see from the photos the covered shooting area is making good progress, services to the site likewise but formal switch on may not happen until a week or so into April.
Again thank you to Sport England for their continued support and to our contractors who are working so hard and doing a great job!
New Bosses
The recent grant from Sport England was to purchase new Tenzone bosses, due to their work load, delivery of the bosses will be staggered over a 10 week period but this will not affect the delivery of tournaments.
Swimathon
Yes, we are still busy fundraising and our next activity is a team of 9 members being sponsored to swim in the annual round table event. Part of the proceeds will go to a charity, the rest into club funds to invest in archer and coach development.
New members
We will be welcoming more than 25 new members in the next few weeks, mostly those that are graduating from Improvers Courses. A new Beginners Course also starts next week.
