As the end of the Indoor Season approaches our second Record Status event in just 4 weeks saw 33 County and 7 National Records tumble!
Alfie Wilkes, Page Tucker from Deer Park recorded National Records in the morning as did Linda Skeet from Nonsuch Bowmen.
All of those records were then beaten by Deer Park members in the afternoon by big margins, Nicole Deasy (Age just 12) beat both the Junior and Senior National Records shooting Barebow and raising the new record by 48 points!
James Howse smashed the Junior Gents Compound by 8 points to 285.
Mike Dalton (Deer Park Junior) shooting Barebow broke the National Record score by 30 points, however that will not be ratified as he had inadvertently left a clicker screw in his riser. We thank the judges for picking this up as it is essential that all records comply with the rules, Mike’s ability and application is such that he will break many records in the future!

Top 3 positions in the Ladies Recurve, Christine Anderton (County Record), Caroline A’Bear & Nichola Cramb
With so many County Records recorded we are not going to list them, however some of the highlights included Nicole Deasy recording 8 single and double records for the various age groups, Connie Healey, improving every week, broke 5 County records. Not to be left out ,3 of our Deer Park Seniors also broke records, Christine Anderton and Mark Crompton broke the Ladies & Gents Double Bray Recurve records and Kevin Sutherland the Longbow record.

Also took the top 3 positions in the Junior Ladies Compound! Connie Healey (County Record) Phoebe Pine & Hannah Deasy.
There were also Junior County Records for Josh Leonard, Harry Faulkner, Riley Spencer-Nice, Anna Langdon, Chloe Tucker, Hamish Ponton & Chloe A’Bear.
Kevin & Mel Sutherland were our Lord & Lady P in recognition of them winning our 2013 Club Persons of the Year Award.
A great effort by our catering, raffle, field crew and scoring teams, some excellent feedback from our visitors and 2 judges that deserved to be on the podium!
The full results will be on the website in next couple of days.
Our passion for competition continues and with last weekend’s Handicap Portsmouth and this week’s Bray both well oversubscribed it is clearly a passion shared by an increasing number of archers!
These sort of results do not happen by accident, they are the product of committed archers, great coaching support and a Club & County environment created by a team of volunteers that encourages growth!
