Six of the best plus some!

The Ricoh Arena and the 2013 British Junior Indoor Championships witnessed another stunning day for the club with nearly every member of our 30 plus strong team achieving their targets for the day! Lots of personal bests, many successful steps in meeting development objectives, great fun and a few trophies, titles and medals thrown in for good measure!

A good start to the day with a comfortable trip up on the team coach with a rousing rendition of Queen’s ‘We are the Champions’ as we arrived at the venue.

Prior to our arrival for the third session there had already been some good performances by our early starters including Fin Cummins with a personal best, excellent scores from Emma Bond & Sashi Bush and a superb performance from Lucy Mason to reach the play-off match to qualify for the Senior Back 2 Back Competition!

We certainly seem to have the Midas touch at the moment, as even the usual pre-presentation raffle produced more than a fair share of winning tickets for Deer Park Archers and it prove to be a trend that continued during the Awards!

Now to the ‘few trophies & titles’, well our best performance yet with 6 British Champions and a further 6 medals which included a number of new faces!

A break from the coach journey with a bite to eat at the motorway services completed a great day for the team. It is another day of competition for our Senior Juniors and Adults on the Sunday and we hope to have an equally good report for another exciting day. For the rest of us it is back to practice at Balcarras on the Sunday morning!
