We are pleased to announce that subject to the Club formally agreeing to the ‘Terms and Conditions’ set out by Sport England for our project entitled ‘Meeting demand, enabling participation, realising potential,’ that we have been awarded £9,545 towards our project which will cost £16,073.
Our main expenditure will be the purchase of new bosses to enable us to run more effective practice sessions, run outdoor record status events and be more inclusive. This project will maximise the opportunities offered by the developments to our new ground that we are currently making!
We would again like to take the opportunity to thank all our funders and sponsors that are supporting us on this ambitious journey and to all our members that work together as a team to make this possible.
Busy few weeks
This weekend sees 26 beginners graduate to our Improvers Programme which will take place at our Balcarras Sports Hall venue.
Following that programme in the afternoon will be a Junior County Squad training and in addition to technique coaching there will be a special emphasis on fitness & conditioning together with nutrition.
Next weekend will see the Junior County Development Squad meeting immediately after the next Improvers Programme session. There is also a field shoot practice session on the Saturday morning. We are also running some open community sessions during this period where the public can just turn up and try our sport.
Work progressing well at ground
We now have dates for the movement of the storage containers which will allow the commencement of the covered shooting area (8th March) and the installation/switching on of our electric supply (24th March).
As you can see from the photos the water supply pipes are currently being installed so more like a bomb site at the moment.
Everything is looking good for the start of our outdoor season and this dry spell should allow us to give the grass the first cut of the season later this week.
