Start of a busy few days at the ground

Drainage work starts

Firstly, again thank you to the Gloucestershire Environmental Trust for their support of this project and the £33K grant to help us ensure that the ground is accessible all year round for all our members.

Work will be carried out over the next week or so, which will mean that both the target area and the field course will not be available for general day time use, however the contractors will ensure that it is available each evening and over the weekend.

In addition to the drainage installation some additional work will also be done to level the left hand side of the range in the 80-110yd area.

Work continues on the field course

Thank you to all the volunteers that continue to work on the field course, last Friday was particularly impressive as it rained throughout the morning but everyone battled on and completed what they set out to do. Great fun!

We will need to get some professional help in to do some work on some of the big trees to ensure they are safe, we will get a quote later this week.

Containers update

A new container arrived today, thank you to Gloucestershire Constabulary for donating it to the Club. Windows etc will be installed and it will act as a site office until the Club House is completed.

Our 40ft Equipment Container was moved onto the car park to give ease of access and clear the area for drainage installation. Again thanks to all those that helped unload and then reload it!

The arrival of the drainage machinery and the relocation of the containers happened on Wednesday morning and despite all of the noise and activity the archery practice session continued throughout!

Music License

A survey of members is being conducted to ascertain when they would like music to be played during which practice sessions, club target competitions and record status competitions etc. We have the sound system and purchasing a music license will allow us to do that.
