What a great day at the British Junior Championships, 18 members (the most of any club) competed at Stonleigh Park and without exception everyone performed above expectation or won a medal!
The impressive medal haul of 5 Gold Medals for Individual Category Champions, 3 of which were Overall British Champions (our best ever return), 1 Silver and 3 Bronze does not tell the whole story! A number of our unrewarded archers recorded personal bests with some impressive scores.
Congratulations to our overall British Champions: Riley Spencer-Nice Junior
Gents Recurve, Grace Chappell Junior Ladies Compound and Ted Williams in the Junior Gents Longbow.
Add to this Championship Titles for Ryan Faulkner, Junior Gents U14 Compound and Katy Reece Junior Ladies U12 Barebow, a silver for Alex Parker Compound, bronze medals for Chloe A’Bear also Compound and in Barebow Imogen Colenutt and Emily Summers meaning we have medals for all bow types!
Amongst those that did not place in the top 3 but who put in some great scores were Emily Kaloo, William Slack, Ashton Hall, Fin Cummins, Sophia Boulton, Toby Reece and Jazmin Brain. Just so proud of all of them!
Thanks to all the parents, coaches, support staff, Xperience Archery and Management Team within the Club who all share in these successes.
Also thank you to Archery GB whose Ontarget Specialisms and Coaching Structures continue to provide us with a frame work to guide us.
Alongside this event was the back2back event and this saw some more good performances from our archers with Ella Gibson finishing 3rd, Phoebe Pine 4th and Holly Clifford progressing from the group stage.
Super Sunday
The British Senior Championships, again at Stonleigh and again a big entry from Deer Park. Some good performances from a number of our juniors and from Phoebe Pine but honors go to Ella Gibson who swept to another victory matching her Number 1 Ranking with great H2H scores.
Equally impressive was the performance of Kevin Macey in the Gents Longbow, qualifying 4th, narrowly beaten by the Number 1 seed in the semifinal 6-4 but securing the bronze 6-0.
And finally well done to Archery GB for another great weekend.
