The ArcheryGB National Indoor Championships – Dec 2&3 Report

It is with great pride that we are able to report another outstanding set of results in both the Senior and Junior National Championships!

With 17 members competing in the Seniors and 10 in the Juniors, we are not able to highlight all the great individual performances in this blog but just look at the overall team performance.

Kevin – Bronze in the Mens Longbow

On the Saturday our senior team finished 3rd (126 clubs represented)  behind England and ArcheryGB.

Ella & Grace success in the Back2Back Tournament on the Sunday

One performance just has to be highlighted with Sam Bowden aged just 12 finishing  5th out of 73 Senior Competitors and then getting to the semifinals in the H2H’s. A truly amazing performance! Sam then backed this up by winning Gold in his age group on the Sunday and finishing with a silver in the Under 21’s H2H’s.

Sam Bowden (Right) – Silver in the Junior U21 Barebow!

On the Sunday our junior team finished top ranked (107 clubs represented), with fellow Gloucestershire Club Cleve Archers finishing 2nd.

Obviously congratulations go to all the archers but we should also take the opportunity to  recognise all the coaches for their support, not just from our club but also across the County.

Integral with this success is also the structure and support our Club provides together with the fantastic County Team development support and Tournament structure provided.

What is even more satisfying is that these considerable achievements are just part of wider success across all levels of our archers, coaches, volunteers and parents impacting not just on the field of play but on our mission to develop the whole person not just the archer, to improve our environment and the quality of experience we strive to offer!

Thank you to everyone involved and needless to say that this is just the start of our journey, we have a long way to go!
