Martin Tucker had some great news as the lucky recipient of a top of the range Hoyt setup to celebrate Wales Archery’s 50th Anniversary! He will be collecting his new kit later this month.

Ground Development Update

Funding has been cleared for the purchase of a 40ft container to be placed in a temporary position and it will be in position next week! Funding has also been cleared for the erection of stock fencing and for the production of detailed drawings for the club house and covered shooting area to support our funding applications. We are currently looking at a hedge planting programme to provide longer term shelter and privacy, at the same time hoping to improve the supply of flowers etc for the adjacent ‘Bee’ Farm!

Archery GB Membership Round

A special thanks to Mary (Club Secretary) for completing the renewals process, with 3 full beginners courses and a number of private beginners courses running there will be a further boost to membership later in the year.

With this in mind the club is currently canvassing its members on introducing a ‘standing order’ programme which will allow the club to offer savings to its members and simplify the current arrangements. It is recognized that the SO system will not be suitable for everyone so current arrangements will also be available.

The Club is also conducting a Club Members Survey for Archery GB of all those 16 and over.

Satellite Clubs

The Club is at an advanced stage working with Active Gloucestershire (CSP) to confirm the viability of setting up 3 Satellite Clubs, before the end of the year and they will be located in Gloucester and Cheltenham. Watch this space for further announcements!

School Games Award for Active Gloucestershire!
