27 junior archers were invited to an end of indoor season squad workshop hosted by Deer Park Archers. All the usual activities were included but with an even stronger emphasis on team building fun.
Hungry Hippos Fun
In addition to some exercises looking at concentration, fitness and an interesting approach to nutrition, there were some general technique coaching sessions, hungry hippos and some team shooting challenges.
One of the challenges we face with increasing levels of participation and interest to be part of our county team is ensuring we offer these opportunities to those that deserve it, we will no longer select purely on ability and scores achieved, it is about commitment, hard work and reliability and we need to rely on all clubs (not just 3 or 4) encouraging their juniors to be considered.
We would like to thank all the parents for their support, the coaches both internal and external and of course our county for their support. Not forgetting all the young archers for making these sessions so worthwhile!
