Tournament, Social and Working Party Updates.

Ground working party

Last Saturday saw our major, ‘get the ground fit for the outdoor season’ working party. Despite temperatures being well below zero, we had a massive turn out of over 40 and we did all the jobs possible over a 6 hour period! Importantly we also managed to complete the hedge and tree planting around the banks of our neighbours. The playing surface was marked out, whole area cleaned up, hedging trimmed back, protective tree/hedging guards replace where necessary. Bosses prepared, containers cleaned up and organised, field course worked on, to mention just a few of the tasks completed.  It was yet another great day for Deer Park volunteering!

Great team of volunteers turned up over a 6 hour period.

Record Status Stafford – On a Wednesday evening

Well done to our tournament team, another fully subscribed event, no national records this time but a few county ones.

Grace Chappell (666) won the Ladies Compound by a single point from Ella Gibson, who in turn was just 3 points ahead of Chloe A’Bear. For Grace this was more than a 50 point improvement from last year! Andy Clifford finished second in the Gents Compound (663) and continues to improve. John Craigie won the Gents Longbow and Riley Spenser -Nice the Gents Recurve with a respectable 616.

The biggest improver if the day by a large margin was Rosie Preece with a massive 219 point improvement in just 12 months and she was not a happy chappie!

Grace had a great evening. Thank you to Grace for the photo!

The following day saw the running of our laser quest evening. In the team event red team (compounds and longbows won) with Simon Faulkner top scoring, despite his mobility problems he repeated that performance to win the individual event! Jordan finishing second on both occasions with Kevin/Alex finishing 3rd.
