It is great news, we have been given planning consent to develop our archery range just off the Shurdington Road! The development granted includes a Club House with internal and external toilets, kitchen and activity area, a 90ft long covered shooting area facing up the range to facilitate practice in wet conditions, 80ft of storage containers and ample car parking! The Club House, covered shooting area and containers will all be wood clad and the perimeters fenced and hedgerows planted to ensure the facility blends in to the Green Belt area where it is located.
Our offer for purchase of the land was made subject to achieving planning permission so we can now proceed. The Summerfield Charitable Trust Grant was made subject to us achieving purchase of the land, so we will then meet their criteria.
The position we have got ourselves into is as a direct result of the hard work, generous contributions and support of all our members and friends. The reality is that the hard work really begins from now if we are to turn a dream into reality!
