Club and Individual Achievements
As a Club we are driven by the need to improve what we do, the way we do it and ensure we provide the best support we can to our members, our community and to our sport. We do not get the ‘we are just here to shoot arrows’ approach at all, the equation is a simple one, ‘what you put in, you generally get out!’
This has certainly proved to be the case and in striving to improve things it has resulted in lots of positive achievements!
We produce a formal presentation each year for our Annual Awards Evening (2019 back shown at the end of this page), however COVID has caused us to cancel the last 2 years, we have therefore diverted our efforts to other things. HOWEVER, we have still achieved amazing things in the past 2 years which are summarised as follows:
- Became Archery GB Club of the Year for the third time.
- Awarded the Archery GB ‘ Special Achievements’ Award for services to the development of our sport.
- Refurbished our car park and improved accessibility.
- Improved access to our field course as well as installing new bridges, better steps and improved pathways.
- Installed all weather surfaces along shooting/waiting lines and infront of covered shooting area.
- Installed floodlighting to run outdoor evening winter shooting sessions.
- Raised more than £20,000 on our Crowdfunder Project to purchase and improve new land for our field course.
- Completed the purchase of the new land and improved its environment.
- Installed wild meadow areas and planted many additional trees.
- Members won Tokyo Paralympic Gold, broke senior World Records and many represented Archery GB.
- Upgraded our bosses and completed all wheeled target range.
