Firstly, thank you to Archery GB for organising an excellent event and congratulations to all the clubs that took part in the awards ceremony.
The ontarget Club of the Year goes to the club that has shown the most contribution to the development of archery. Deer Park Archers were recognised for their incredible efforts to grow the club and the sport despite the impact of Covid-19.

We were also highly commended for our Men-in-Sheds Participation Project.

We were also short listed for the Toxophilus Trophy which goes to any club, county or region that has shown exemplary support to the archers, clubs, or counties in their area, seeking to influence change and good practice through exceptional member engagement.

Well done to everyone for contributing to these fantastic achievements!
Also our own Ella Gibson received the first of two special recognition awards to celebrate not only her achievements as an athlete but also her efforts to help others within the sport. Ella won numerous national and international competitions over the last 12 months. She also won all five stages of the National Tour and holds the world record for 60m. Ella also volunteered to shoot against the compound Paralympians to help them prepare for Tokyo 2020.

It’s more membership records!
With renewals complete we are delighted to highlight that our percentage losses are by far the lowest we have ever recorded and as a consequence our membership has already passed the 200 mark, that is 15% higher than this time last year.
Successful delivery of 4 Record Status events in just 3 weeks!
We were pleased that our ambitious programme in September delivered every tournament to a very high standard and relieved that in the main the weather was kind!
Sandwiched in between the Civil Service Championships and our Early Portsmouth was the 2 day World Record Status Junior Masters event where all the participants were a credit to our sport, their Clubs and Coaches.

A big thank you to all our volunteer teams, in particular the competition team, men-in-sheds/ground maintenance team, field crews and catering teams!

Our winter programme begins!

Following a membership survey to identify individual preferences for club winter shooting our winter programme continues to offer a wide range of choices, unsurprisingly the floodlit covered shooting area was the most popular choice!
It was also agreed that the majority of COVID mitigations should remain in place. So increased target spacing and defined lanes, online booking continues for the outdoor ranges, wearing of masks indoors, reduced bosses, no heating, extra ventilation, no target face sharing etc. will all remain in place.
Our 3 indoor venues offer plenty of options, as does the floodlit covered area, the outdoor range and field course options complete an impressive menu of practice options for our membership!
First wheelchair friendly pathway to our field course is completed.
Thanks to the support of the Worshipful Company of Fletchers we have now installed the path from our main facility to Fletchers Wood which locates the bulk of our field course. The pathway will be further extended once we have proved the construction. This week we also completed the purchase of adjacent land to consolidate the core of our field course. Thank you to everyone who has supported us in this project.
