What an amazing achievement!

Phoebe stars for GB at the Paralympics!

9 years after Phoebe completed her beginners course with us, she was able to fulfil her dreams of becoming a Paralympic Gold medal winner.

Phoebe Patterson Pine Paralympic Individual Gold Medal Winner!

Well done to Phoebe and all her family for this incredible achievement, words cannot capture the trials and tribulations that Phoebe has faced and overcome, so many ups and downs that are not just a measure of a great archer but a great person!

So much reporting out there that not much more needs to be said.

First accessible path section of the field course and car park improvements are almost completed.

Thanks to the support provided by the Worshipful Company of Fletchers the first section of pathway providing wheel chair access to 3 field course targets located in the recently named ‘Fletchers Wood’ has been installed. This section will be assessed over the winter period before we extend the path to further field course targets.

A designated parking area with a further improved surface will be completed over the next week or so and that will be more suitable to support the heavier electric wheel chairs. We would like to thank our main sponsors  ‘Elliotts Aggregates’ for all their support. This will be an important part of our overall carpark upgrade.

Flower displays show off our Barnwood Trust Social Terracing!

Despite some extremes of weather our flower displays have been very impressive and add that little something extra to our ever improving home ground.

On the same theme, production of our bug hotels, bird and bat boxes continues at a pace and all the materials have arrived to upgrade half of our 12 bridges that provide access across Norman’s Brook which runs through our field course.

We continue to be indebted to our men-in-sheds team that drive all these improvements.

Another thank you in advance this time, to a team of volunteers from Spirax Sarco who are volunteering as part of their Company’s Policy to support community work.

Visitors will notice the odd giant 3.6m long arrows around the site, all part of our intention to celebrate our sport and facilities in new ways!

The start of a production line, all bow type arrows will be represented and finish painted complete with nocks and piles!

Bank Holiday Club Attrition Tournament a massive success!

It has been too long since we held this event, combining target and field archery challenges and a skills section using Genesis bows.

Firstly a massive thank you to Peter Sisson and his team of volunteers for putting together an amazing afternoon.

Well done to all participants and congratulations to (left to right) Dan, Vanessa, Rob, Harry, Karen/Izzy, Grace and Kieran our outdoor club champions for 2021.

A full entry and some added, closely fought competition.
