In line with our Mission Statement, ClubMark and Ontarget objectives we have agreed our winter programme for October 2017 to March 2018 which is summarised as follows:

General open coach supported practice sessions

Average of 12 hours per week, primarily taking place on Saturdays, Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Fridays. All our practice sessions are supported by volunteer qualified coaches; we offer individuals a choice of named coaches or general support where they can ask for help on a random basis to any coach. We also ask our coaches to be proactive and offer help if they feel it is needed.

Castle Junior Archery League

During the upcoming indoor season we will be taking part in a new junior inter club competition involving 6 clubs from around the country – Deer Park, Supermarine, Cleve Archers, Wallingford Castle Bowmen, Andover and Guildford. Each club will host an event.

Indoor 252 (adult and junior).

Following the success of the outdoor programme we are running a similar progress award scheme for the indoor practice sessions, designed around a Portsmouth Face. This information will be used to arrange a handicap club target competition towards the end of the indoor season.

Winter Mini – Field League.

A series of fortnightly field competitions with a number of different rounds including 3D, 2D and WA rounds. Open to all Archery GB members not just Deer Park. We are also organising the County field championships at our ground.

Great fun

Winter Clout training and competition. (Adult and junior)

We are running a number of training sessions and one club target day in preparation for our juniors to enter the county Clout championships. This has not been viable until 2018 as the county junior championships was the day before the Clout championships, the date has now been moved!

Our programme of training courses and workshops for archers, coaches, field captains, 1st aiders and volunteers will be published separately. The same applies to our social, team-building and Junior Committee Programmes.

Such a busy programme would not be possible without our team of great volunteers, supportive parents and a great committee, working together.
