2024 Club Annual Awards Report

Another great evening in our social calendar, this time celebrating all our successes in the past 12 months.

The evening started with a video capturing many of the years highlights and then an opening address from our Chair Andy Champness highlighting the great work of our volunteers, inviting even more members to get involved.

With food readily available throughout the evening it helped pack a lot of activities in, including 1% and general knowledge quizzes.

Everyone took the challenges seriously and there was many impressive/surprising team scores!

Another excellent video featuring our ground, volunteers and archers provided a perfect lead into the main event, some of the highlights included;

Graham Peter’s receiving the Jos Benfield Club Person of the Year Award recognising all the quality Coaching support he has provided.

Harriet Beckinsale-Smith was the Young Club Person of the Year for her commitment and support for her archery, volunteering, fabulous attitude and display of Club values!

Matthew, Laura and Sheena Turner received the Environmental Champions award for their tireless work maintaining our stream and surrounding areas.

Ian Green received recognition for his commitment and progress in developing ‘Run’ Archery both within the club and ArcheryGB.

Rob Lygoe received a commemorative plaque recognising his achievement in completing the 252 badges at all levels in 2 bow types!

The 22 members who had represented the County in what proved to be an amazing year were also recognised, as were all our British Champions and British Record holders!
