It was another sparkling day for Gloucestershire (12,679) , again winning the event by some margin over Devon & Cornwall (11,125) who finished second, Somerset (10,998) third and finally Dorset & Wiltshire (10,407).
The team which had been selected from the winter squad training programmes and archers that had performed well over the summer was drawn from just 3 Clubs, Cleve (3), Cheltenham (3) and Deer Park (9) and with the wealth of talent in the County we could have selected a very competitive second team!
We first need to say thank you to our hosts Exmouth Archers for providing excellent facilities, a great ground crew and outstanding catering!
Secondly thank you to Doug Human for organising the event and then for the excellent support of the judges and Lady
Paramount Mrs Barbara Williams.
In what is becoming almost an annual occurrence at this event Rachel Lucas recorded 4 National Records shooting Barebow, and Holly Clifford became one of just a very select handful of junior archers in Great Britain to shoot a score over 1400 recording 1406.
Will Gore top scored for our recurve team with 1224. Phoenix Udden from Cheltenham (491 ) and Josh
Elgood from Cleve (453) did us proud on the longbows.
The most important achievement though was the consistent high standard achieved by all our archers
which certainly reflects the health of Clubs and quality of coaching in Gloucestershire!
The event also incorporated the GWAS Regional Championships with Gloucestershire winning 50% of the titles and Deer Park Archers achieving 33% of the overall titles, this is again a product of good coaching and a supportive club environment.
In the Regional Championships we had good performances from Phoebe Pine Compound U12 (1294), Ella Gibson (961) shooting Barebow who was in the County Team and competing in her first Record Status competition winning Regional Titles.

Ella Gibson, Shot for Gloucestershire and became Regional Champion breaking County & Regional Records in her first ever formal competition!
Any report should thank our County and its staff for the way they support junior development through County Development
Squads, looking after the future with sessions for those that aspire to get into the County Squad and for support in funding clothing and the team coach.
We should also remind readers that this is the Deer Park Archers report on the Junior Inter-Counties and that there were some excellent performances from other squad members who shoot for other clubs and they will be covered by their club’s reports.
