Supporting our Community
On the Thursday we hosted 6 teams of GirlGuides for a fun evening of team and individual challenges, supported by a group of our coaches.
The following day saw 13 visiting Primary School Teams of 9 archers, from the Gloucester District, programmed in across the day to record Level 2 qualification scores. The weather was so bad, they shot from the covered shooting area throughout the day ensuring that the event remained on and was a positive experience!
A couple of days later we hosted a have-a-go session from a local rambling club, this time our indoor area came to the rescue as the weather was again rubbish!
2 Day 3D Field Archery Tournament – A fantastic success!
The weekend saw our first 2 Day event take place on our wonderfully prepared course. Credit to our team of field crew and catering volunteers who have worked so hard before and during the event led by Liz and John Dalton.
A separate report will cover the detail but to summarise, it was fully booked, the feedback was amazing, the course challenging but fair, we learnt a lot and our passion to arrange future events even greater!
Clearly the gods were with us, the event was sandwiched between days of atrocious weather, non-of which we saw during the event!
County Primary School Games Final hits new heights!
17 major qualification events, 125 teams of 9, totaling 1125 Archers, seeking just 2 places from each of the 5 District Finals to achieve the honour of competing at Hartpury!
With a qualification round in the morning, the top 5 teams reaching the Genesis Finals and the bottom 5 competing for position and medals using the adapted kit.
Both Finals in the afternoon lived up to expectation, especially the Genesis final with new winners in Sapperton with a staggering average arrow value of 9.1
Previous multiple winners Hillview finishing second and Callowell winning Bronze.
Our team of 10 coaches helped by students from Hartpury delivered another superb experience for all those involved.
Social Terracing almost complete!
As you can see from the photos, our Terracing Project is looking fantastic and when complete will add to the experience we offer!
County Senior & Junior Championships
We are hosting this Record Status 1440 and Metrics event at the end of the month, the county made the decision to change the date, it seems to have worked, we are almost full! Years since we could say that!
Beginners Courses
Our Training Centre rescued us again on Monday evening when very wet and blustery weather again forced us indoors, all 25 candidates concentrated on developing their skills and not on survival!
