Too much to report?

So highlights will have to do!

British Junior Championship Weekend at Lilleshall

Day 1 saw a string of successes for all our archers, non-more so than Harriet who recorded 7 British Records! Even more remarkable as she is recovering from a lengthy illness!

Day 2 saw 6 of our juniors win Gold, to put this in perspective next in the medal table were 5 clubs winning 2 medals. This could have been even more impressive with 3 juniors not available as they are competing in this coming weeks World Junior Championships. We wish all the GB juniors the best of luck.

Gloucestershire archers competing at the British Championships

Gloucestershire won the County Compound Team Trophy comprising of all Deer Park Archers! Well done to Harriet, Lily W and Ryan.

2 of those 3 archers were also in the winning Regional Compound Team.

Winning County Team comprising all Deer Park!

In the Recurve Category Gloucestershire finished 2nd in the County Team event with our own Sam Bowden (shooting Barebow) top scoring!

Gloucestershire County combined Senior and Junior Championships

Last week we hosted the County 1440/Metrics, thank you to everyone that made the event so successful. We are so fortunate to have so many great volunteers and constantly improving facilities and the skills to deliver the quality of experience that we do!

Also the work that Elaina is doing with both the Senior and Junior County Squads is certainly paying dividends!

This week as a thank you for all the support they provided us, we ran a have-a-go session for the staff. Great feedback, thanks to all our coaches.

Listening Post

We also ran a team building session for volunteers and supporters of our chosen charity Listening Post. Again thank you to our coaches, this has made a real contribution to an organisation that provides a free counselling service to Gloucestershire citizens.

Local Cub Group have-a-go.

The day after we ran a have-a-go for a local Cub group, excellent session, again great work from the coaches!

Introduction to field archery – British Army Archery Association

Next week we are hosting a programme to introduce more of the Army Association Archers to field archery. The intention is to grow the numbers so that we can host a full Army Association Field Championships in 2024.

Deer Park Short Mat Bowls Club

We are hosting a local club to see how we get on with a real match.

2 mats fit nicely in the clubhouse.

Club Orchard confirmed!

Our Natural Environment Officer has secured support to plant semi-mature apple, pear and plum trees in part of our flowering meadow area at the top of the range. Work will be carried out this autumn and spacing will be such that the flowering area will not be affected.
